Lib Dems win ID Card Vote at Royal Borough

The The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has voted to resist any attempt to make the council participate in trials of the National Identity card after councillors voted to support a Lib Dem Motion proposing to boycott the scheme.

Local Lib Dems propose support for Post Bank Plans

Lib Dems tried but failed to get the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead to join the cross party campaign to have a Post Bank. A motion brought to council by the Liberal Democrats called for the Council to write to local MPs calling on them to support the plan.

Liberal Democrats will cut people's income tax bill by £700.

The Liberal Democrats will fight the next general election with a pledge to cut income tax bills by £700 for people on low and middle incomes. The party will promise to raise the income tax personal allowance to £10,000 by closing tax loopholes exploited by big businesses and the wealthy.
