Tory volunteers posing as polling station staff in South West Surrey
Rather odd behaviour by a Conservative teller in South West Surrey who turned out to be very reluctant to admit they were telling on behalf of the Conservative Party, as the following video shows:
As an aside, one thing this incident does show is how perverse some Returning Officers are in still, well into the twenty-first century, not liking tellers to wear rosettes in party colours and showing party logos. Not only is there no law against it, but the Electoral Commission's guidance states:
Appearance
3.12 Tellers should wear coloured rosettes of a reasonable size, as this assists electors by making it clear that they are activists and not electoral officials. The rosette may display the name of a campaigner/candidate/party and/or an emblem or description.
3.13 Tellers must not wear, carry or display any headwear, footwear or other apparel that carries any writing, picture or sign relating to any candidate, party or campaigner apart from a rosette.
