Times Reveals more Dodgy Donations for the Conservatives

10 Jan 2010

The Times has uncovered more dodgy donations from millionaires to the Conservative Party. In an article published on the 10th January, the Times revealed that tens of thousands of pounds donated by the Goldsmith family and by the Reuben brothers, who are property developers and aluminium tycoons, had been improperly recorded by the Conservative Party thereby obscuring the source of the money.

The Times reported that some of the money had been donated to Windsor Conservatives' neighbouring party colleagues in Surrey Heath.

The donations were channelled through a company called "Unicorn Administration" and although Zac Goldsmith tells the Times he informed the Conservative Party about the funds that were from him, the Conservatives failed to pass on this information to the Electoral Commission's register of donations.
