Three good reasons to vote Lib Dem on 10 June

THE fact is that this country is part of Europe - historically, socially and geographically. Lib Dems believe we can improve the way Europe works by being positive and confident about our role. To add to this consistently held view here are 3 more good reasons for supporting us on June 10th.

First, we believe the EU should not get involved in decisions best made at a local or national level. It should concentrate on important cross-border issues such as terrorism and the environment.

The Lib Dems are the most "green" major party and Emma Nicholson (MEP of the Year) has the best record of all the south-east MEP's on protecting the environment.

Secondly, the Conservatives don't really like Europe. The issue has divided them for years and consequently their MEP's have a poor record on publishing reports, voting and getting things done.

Finally, voting Lib Dem this time will send a message to the Government. Iraq is an unnecessary disaster; student top-up fees are divisive and a radical overhaul of Council Tax is needed.

Voting Liberal Democrat on June 10th won't change the Government but it will be a reasoned and sensible choice.
