Residents' Parking Discount Success!

After a 2 year long campaign the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead has finally announced it will restore a residents' parking discount.

As so often with our local Conservatives the details aren't completely worked out.

What is known:

• The new residents' parking discount is likely to work via a smart phone app.

• There will be discounted parking for the first hour.

• The offer won't be as generous as the old Advantage Card parking discount.

"In a tourist town such as Windsor, it's essential to differentiate the locals from the visitors when charging for parking.

What can be afforded by way of parking charges for a special day out, is not the same as what local people can be expected to pay as part of their weekly shopping.

With lots of other shopping towns within reach, such as Staines, Slough and Bracknell, we must make parking affordable for locals if we want Windsor to keep its town centre shops." says Windsor Lib Dem Cllr Karen Davies.
