PARKING PROBLEMS PERSIST IN WINDSOR
Like many people, we have been concerned about the ongoing issues with parking machines in Windsor but parking problems also extend into our residential streets.
Residents of the Green Lane, Clewer Avenue, Clewer New Town area have told us they are frustrated by a hotchpotch of schemes and yellow lines which have been implemented without considering the knock-on effects on neighbouring streets. They tell us that restrictions have been applied piecemeal and that it has become harder to park in the evening and at weekends. Some female residents have been forced to walk long distances to their homes after dark as they can't find a space close to home.
Residents have suggested various improvements to the Conservative councillors, but they don't seem to be listening.
This is just one example of the Conservatives' chaotic approach to parking and where the Lib Dems are working year round for Windsor to help residents. Having consulted residents, we are lobbying the council to reassess the parking restrictions in this area and make them better, smarter and fairer.
If elected, we will develop a coherent parking strategy which will apply restrictions fairly, preventing people from parking their cars and going away on holiday for two weeks, while ensuring that residents can park near their own homes. May 2nd gives residents the opportunity to demand better for Windsor.
