Lib Dem Administration renews commitment to a Windsor Town Council

Tonight at Windsor Forum, the Lib Dem Administration reinforced it's commitment to forming a Windsor Town Council.
The Government's recent white paper on devolution about their desire to create larger unitary authorities- with a 'super authority' for Berkshire a future possibility. We believe this will take democracy further from the people and Town Councils will become even more important.
Establishing a Windsor Town Council was a key manifesto promise.
The Lib Dem Administration considers it essential that a Windsor Town Council is implemented no later than any Local Authority reorganisation.
A Community Governance review will commence when feasible (subject to financial and capacity limitations) and to ensure timelines are in accordance with wider reorganisations.
