Maidenhead MP Backs Lib Dem Calls to Stop Conservative Council's Creche Cuts

19 Dec 2009

The Lib Dem campaign to stop Windsor Conservatives' creche cuts at the borough's leisure centres is gathering strength after the Conservative MP for Maidenhead broke ranks with her council colleagues and joined the Lib Dems in calling for the creches at Magnet and Windsor leisure centres to stay open.

"Its good to know that the Maidenhead MP has seen sense, but we still wait to see if the Windsor MP will join her. The parents of young children need to be able to exercise and the creche is the only way to facilitate this, unless you are fortunate enough to be able to afford your own nanny. Its a shame that Windsor's Conservative Councillors seem to know the cost of everything down to the nearest £500, but don't seem to appreciate the value of Health and Fitness" said Lib Dem Spokesman Julian Tisi.
