Liberal Democrats take Marlow by election seat

Liberal Democrat Ivor Coleman won the by election for Marlow Town Council caused by the disqualification of Tory ex-Councillor Anthony Dunn.

Ex-Councillor Dunn was disqualified for breaches of the Councillor's code of conduct.

The Standards Board for England issued a press release saying

"The ethical standards officer's view was that Councillor Dunn had used his position improperly, sought to compromise council officers' impartiality, sought to influence decisions in which he had a prejudicial interest and brought his office into disrepute. The ethical standards officer also noted with concern that Councillor Dunn's breaches of the code came after he was suspended for a month in December 2006 for similar conduct."

Clearly the people of Marlow decided they wanted reputable Liberal Democrat Ivor Coleman after this damning indictment.

Ivor had lost his seat on Marlow Town Council by one vote in the 2007 elections.
