Fahrenheit 9/11

I've just been to see "Fahrenheit 9/11", the new Michael Moore film.

When young men and women sign-up to serve in the British armed forces, they are signing-up to protect us all. They undertake this duty willingly.

The duty of politicians is to ensure that in exchange for their service, our armed forces are not exposed to danger, except when absolutely necessary.

"Fahrenheit 9/11" is not an easy film to watch. It focuses on the impact the Iraq War has had on real people - real Iraqi civilians, real military personnel, and the very real families on both sides.

This American film is relevant to us all. It particularly touches us here in Windsor, a Services' town with a large community of soldiers and their families. "Fahrenheit 9/11" provides insight into what that community has undertaken in our name.

As an ex-serviceman this is a movie I would encourage you to see. Tony Blair desperately wants us to forget Iraq, and the Tories are hoping they can gloss over their role in supporting the war.

"Fahrenheit 9/11" ask us if Tony Blair and the Tories were over eager to promote this war and therefore failed in their duty to us and our servicemen? As your possible MP my task will be to prevent this kind of dereliction of duty.
