Local Lib Dems have campaigned for Heatherwood over many years.

PEOPLE are lining up to become governors of the new look trust running Slough's Wexham Park Hospital.

The election will be held on Thursday, December 11, with 5,000 trust members eligible to vote.

Trust membership was offered to anyone who applied after the merger of Wexham Park and its sister Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot with Frimley Park Hospital.

The merger opened the opportunity for 19 new governors to be created to serve on the new Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.

For Windsor and Maidenhead, 15 potential governors have applied for four places.

There are five places available for governors representing the Slough area and 17 people have applied.

Governors also need to be elected for the Binfield, Chilterns and South Bucks and Frimley areas.

There are also two governor vacancies to be filled by staff members from the Heatherwood, Wexham Park hospitals, which have been applied for by 11 hopefuls.
