Conservatives in Windsor have been forced to admit that a leaflet they put out, claiming they had saved Wyevale and Squires garden centres in Dedworth, was untrue.

Speaking to the Royal Borough Observer, a Conservative spokesman admitted the leaflet was untrue, but claimed it had been a mistake made by local Conservatives in west Windsor, who didn't know what was actually going on.

In 2017 the Conservatives told the Windsor Express that both garden centres had been removed from the the development plan, however when the plan was sent out to consultation over Christmas 2018, the garden centres were back in.

In reality both garden centres have been sold to property companies and Squires has already closed.

"The Conservatives put the garden centres into the development plan, but on several occasions since have claimed to be campaigning to save them."

"The latest Conservative leaflets even claimed that the garden centres had been saved from the plan, when they have not." said local campaigner Karen Davies.

Only two things are possible, either the the Conservatives have misled the people of Windsor for electoral gain, or they don't have a clue about what's going on at the council. Either way are these people we can trust to run The Royal Borough?
