Conservatives Cut Recycling Target

Conservatives can't meet their own targets on recycling

Conservatives at the Royal Borough have cut their recycling target from 55% to 50%.

The target covers the proportion of waste sent for reuse, recycling, energy recovery or composting.

The Conservatives' new target is only 2% above the current performance level, effectively cutting their target to make it easier to achieve, instead of working harder to increase recycling rates.

The last Lib Dem administration of the council increased recycling by 11%.
