Conservative Council Tax in Royal Borough Above National Average
Figures published by The Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government, show that despite the hype from Royal Borough Conservatives, the average household in Windsor & Maidenhead is paying well above the national average in Council Tax.
The figures which are available from government website www.gov.uk show that the average per dwelling council tax paid by households in The Royal Borough is £1373 compared to the national average for England of £1258.
Meanwhile Council Tax in neighbouring Slough is just below the national average at £1252.
"Royal Borough Conservatives love to boast of the lowest band D Council Tax outside of London. What these figures show is that, because the Royal Borough has large numbers of high value properties, band D does not represent the actual council tax people are paying." says Local Liberal Democrat Julian Tisi.
"Despite squeezing local services for the vulnerable, local Conservatives are running an expensive and inefficient council. Is it any wonder the council is in debt, when council tax is wasted on excessive allowances for the council's leaders and propaganda banners on lamp posts?"
