Banking Hub even more important for Windsor as Post Office is under threat

At Windsor Forum a resident asked for an update on whether a banking hub will be opened in Windsor and what effect the potential closure of the Post Office might have.
Paul Roach, Town Manager presented on the actions taken by RBWM over the past year.
Banking Hub review applications made by Windsor Lib Dems and RBWM Town Centre Manager to Link Access early last year were rejected due to the presence of a number of ATMs, Nationwide and the Post Office.
After some effort, a cash deposit machine was installed in November 2024.

The future of Windsor Post office is now uncertain as the Post Office want them run as franchises and are reviewing all Crown Post Offices (see announcement by Post Office in Nov 24). Given the changing circumstances, a fresh request for banking hub review has been made in January 2025.
Windsor Lib Dems have a campaign to keep the Post Office open which has received over 2000 signatures so far
Cllr Amy Tisi, Lead Member for Windsor has written to the PO chief exec to make the case for keeping the office open.
RBWM officers have also written to the Post Office.
Whilst there is uncertainty, Windsor Liberal Democrats continue to champion the needs of local people.
