Clewer New Town & Green Lane Parking

For three years a residents' parking scheme has been in place in Clewer Avenue.

Initially the scheme only operated from 11-2 but in February 2016 it was changed in to 24/7.

Residents in nearby roads, including Green Lane and Clewer New Town were not included in the consultations which led to the establishment of the scheme.

The knock-on effects of the scheme on parking in Green Lane and Clewer New Town has led to residents reporting they are unable to find a space near their home, particularly in the evenings and at weekends.

Some residents are also unhappy with the parking restrictions currently being introduced on Green Lane, which they feel will reduce parking spaces excessively, including extended stretches of double yellow lines.

Residents have suggested various improvements to the Conservative councillors, including that the three roads should be considered as one area for parking, or that Green Lane & Clewer New Town should have equivalent restrictions, particularly given the knock-on effects between the three roads. Sadly the current Conservative councillors / council don't seem to be listening.

Following our recent Focus newsletter several residents recently contacted your local Lib Dem Focus Team to ask us to get involved.

Tell us what you think by replying to our survey today.
