The Lib Dem's Residents' Parking Zone (RPZ) Campaign hit the streets this week.

"We understand the council is short of money,"

says long term local Lib Dem Campaigner Julian Tisi,

"but we do not see why residents who are unlucky enough to have bad parking problems, should be singled out to make good the debts and deficits the Conservative led council has run up over the last decade."

It was only in May last year that the Conservative council leader was telling residents, "We do not believe you should pay your council tax and then have to pay to park outside your house."

Now the council is introducing charges of £50 - £100 for residents' parking permits.

It's just a shame local Conservtives didn't have the honesty to put these charges in their election manifesto in May last year.

The Campaign encompasses:

  • A poster campaign
  • A petition demanding Residents' Permits are kept free
  • A survey to help us understand your views
  • An invitation to send us a photo of your poster in your window for publication

As part of the campaign a mailing was sent to around 7000 homes in RPZs in the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead. Regrettably we weren't able to fund mailing residents in every RPZ but the resources are available to complete or download online at the links below:
