Tories £230 million Debt Mountain

SERVICES CUT, WHILST LOCAL CONSERVATIVES SPLASH-THE-CASH ON TAXPAYER PAID PARTY PROPAGANDA BANNERS AND PROMOTIONAL VIDEOS

Under current Conservative plans the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead's debt will rise to £240 million over the next four years.
The growing debt is a result of poor decision making in the Royal Borough, such as the recent £100,000 spent on lamp post banners and a promo feel good video, which were really tax-payer funded party propaganda for the Conservative council.
Conservative councillors were thrown into confusion earlier in the year when it emerged they had overspent this years budget by £8.8 million (about £220 per household). Opposition councillors had previously pointed out the problems with the council budget, but the Conservatives weren't prepared to listen to other people.
The burden of interest payments on growing debt has to be funded from council tax, eating up money badly needed by frontline services. With interest rates currently at all-time lows and with the value of the pound likely to drop post-Brexit, there is a big risk of significant interest rate rises.

Amy Tisi, Karen Davies and your local Lib Dems would re-evaluate all of the council's spending to ensure that vital services are prioritised over lamp post banners and videos.
