    Petition: Jan 6, 2021

Windsor & Maidenhead Conservatives are planning to introduce charges to park at out of town car parks across the Borough.

In particular parking charges will apply to the car parks at children's play grounds.

Far from raising money for our cash strapped Conservative Council, these proposals will lead to empty car parks with congested parking on neighbouring streets.

Responding to the news that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have won the US presidential election, Leader of the Liberal Democrats Ed Davey said:

"People around the world will now be breathing a huge sigh of relief. Over the past four years Donald Trump has fed a new divisive form of politics, testing American democracy to its very limits. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris's victory isn't just democratic, it may have saved US democracy.

Cllr Karen Davies, shadow lead member for climate change and sustainability on behalf of the RBWM Lib Dem Group.

We remain committed to an earlier target date for net zero carbon emissions in RBWM than the given 2050 date target aligned with current Government policy, which we believe must evolve rapidly anyway to avoid global warming in excess of 1.5%. We are grateful to the many local activists and experts who have given their time to comment on the strategy already, and to Cllrs Brar, Bond and Del Campo who have made individual responses, and will not duplicate comments but will draw together several themes which we believe are important. We are grateful to the Wilds in particular for their input on the Natural Environment strand and would just reiterate our belief in the need to secure the status of assets such as Battlemead and Thrift Wood.

Local Liberal Democrat Ward Councillors for Clewer East, Amy Tisi & Karen Davies have renewed their calls on the council for safety improvements at the Mill Lane / Parsonage Lane / Maidenhead Road roundabout, after a child was knocked off their bike last week.

"We've been calling for improvements at the Mill Lane roundabout for a year. At our public meeting last November our residents in Parsonage Lane and Clewer Village made it clear this roundabout is a major concern. So far, the only action the council has been prepared to take is the installation of speed activated sign and now, in part because of that inaction, another person, a child, has been knocked off their bike and injured," says Cllr Amy Tisi (Lib Dem - Clewer East)
