Students Studying Away from Home

Students studying at educational establishments away from home are entitled to be registered to vote at both their term time and home addresses.

Students registered to vote in two places may however only vote once in any election:

  • In European Elections you can effectively choose whether to vote at your term time OR at your home address, but not both.
  • In Parliamentary Elections you can effectively choose whether to vote at your term time OR at your home address, but not both.
  • In local elections you can vote at both your home and term time addresses - provided these are in different councils' areas.
