In 2006 as part of the re-branding of the Crown Estate's visitor operations in Windsor Great Park as "The Royal Landscape" the estate proposed to enclose the Valley Gardens and introduce charges to visitors.
The plan met with widespread opposition and a non-party-political action group was set up to fight the plans.
The Lib Dems provided support to the Valley Gardens Action Group by offering them the use of our Freepost address and including their petition in our literature.
The plan was abandoned following the public opposition.
