Richard has a degree in Civil Engineering and has worked in the Civil Service (MAFF and The Forestry Commission) and as a teacher. He has taught for many years in Middle, Junior and Primary Schools in the constituency.
He was a prominent supporter of SOS - Save Our Schools, the campaign to save Windsor's Schools in the late 1990s.
