A CHANNEL 4 News investigation has raised questions over the election expenses of Conservative MP Zac Goldsmith. It comes after David Cameron pledged to clean up politics following the MPs' expenses scandal.
Mr Goldsmith won the Richmond Park seat from Lib Dem incumbent Susan Cramer in a closely fought battle in the South West London seat. Susan Kramer's campaign was strongly supported by Lib Dem activists in Windsor.
Mr Goldsmith has defended his conduct vigorously on Sky News.
The Liberal Democrats have not played any part in the investigation, as part of which Channel 4 questions the way in which Mr Goldsmith's team have split election bills between the General Election and local election expenses returns and between those items which do and don't count for the election expenses return.
