Tory Tax Break for Ladies that Lunch

David Cameron's second tax policy is again aimed at the rich and is so right wing that Mrs Thatcher turned it down.
In a claimed bid to support marriage David Cameron has advocated making individual tax allowances transferable between married partners, however this same policy was rejected by Margaret Thatcher as it rewards rich people with non-working partners, whilst doing nothing for low and middle income families where both partners have to work.
"Dressed up as a family friendly policy, this is, like the Conservative's policy on inheritance tax, a policy which mostly benefits the rich. If the Conservatives are serious about helping families they will have to recognise the fact that in the majority of low and middle income households both partners have to work." says the Lib Dem's Julian Tisi.
Meanwhile the Daily Mirror reported the scheme would leave poorly-paid households £30 a year better off - while the richest would benefit by £380.
Previously the Conservatives announced they would raise the inheritance tax threshold to £1 million, benefiting only a few thousand of the very richest people in the country.
