Glut of motorists caught speeding in Windsor

Speedy motorists were stopped in their tracks by the police in Windsor on Thursday.
A total of 25 drivers were caught during the spot check in Kings Road, over a two-hour period and focused on vehicles travelling out of the town, towards the Great Park.
Police said it was arranged after concern was raised by residents at action group meetings.
Motorists were stopped for exceeding the 30mph speed limit, with speeds ranging from 35mph to 50mph.
Those travelling at 40mph and above were issued with Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) of £60 and three penalty points, and drivers doing 38mph or 39mph were issued with notices, but given the opportunity to take part in a speed awareness course.
PC Bob Wade, road safety constable from the Thames Valley safer roads partnership, who led the operation, said: "It is disappointing that so many drivers are ignoring the speed limit."
